Ever heard the "Ballad of An Indestructible Racer?" Someday I'll find the lyrics for it, but it's based looslh on the life of a WISSOTA racer named Jason Schierkolk... Yep the Jason Schierkolk from Casper, WY.

Jason Schierkolk RacingThe last known verse had the hero of the tune sailing a Limited Late Model off the turn three embankment at Gillette Thunder Speedway . It took a few anxious minutes to get Schierkolk out of the upturned vehicle. Back on his feet, only a balladeer like himself would dismiss the whole thing as "one of those things" or "I've bee through worse."

Jason SchierkolkIn the earlier verses, mention is made of the times he's "been on fire," as in literally aflame. He's been punted, dumped and stumped - often in one action. But, like the title reveals, his spirit is indestructible.

Or something like that...

Jason SchierkolkApparently the tunesmith couldn't think of something to rhyme with "modified" because that was the next race he had to get ready for.

Jason Schierkolki don't know about you, but I've never met anyone other than Jason whom that song could have been written for. He tole me that the best thing he ever could have done was to have another race car to race - that same night.
